Fees/Cancellations
A $25 jury fee along with a $125 booth fee must be submitted with each artists’ application and artwork. Jury fees are nonrefundable. Any accepted artist who cancels by September 1st will receive a 50% refund. Accepted artists fees paid in connection with this application are non-refundable after September 1st. FWAF (as defined in the rules below) is not responsible for any cancellation fee in the event that the Arts Festival is cancelled in the case of accident, riot, strikes, epidemic, acts of God or other legitimate conditions beyond FWAF’s control. Notwithstanding the foregoing, FWAF shall have the right, in its sole and absolute discretion, to reschedule the Arts Festival in the event of a cancellation.
Booths
Artists must supply their own booth display consistent with the presentation on the submitted slide. All booths are to be 10’ x 10’ in size.
Jurying Process
Each potential exhibitor must submit 4 images (slides, photographs or CD) of their current work and 1 image of booth set-up. Work will be judged using the criteria of design, technical competence and presentation. All slides, CDs, and photographs will be returned in the artist welcome packet. The jurying committee consists of art professionals and lay persons alike. Artists must include an artist statement of 25 words or less to be included with slides describing, materials, or any other pertinent information artist feels necessary or your application will not be considered.
General Provisions
- No commission is taken on sales. Each artist is required to collect Indiana Sales Tax (7%). Artists who have an Indiana Sales Tax number must provide that number with this application. If you are selected to exhibit and do not have an Indiana Sales Tax number, you must register with the Indiana Department of Treasury.
- FWAF organizers and/or staff may visit artists’ booths periodically throughout the Arts Festival to ensure compliance to the rules. If an artist is in violation of one or more of the rules, the artist may be asked to leave the Arts Festival. Persistent violation of the rules may jeopardize his/her right to participate in future FWAF sponsored or organized events.
- Artist agrees to be solely responsible for all equipment, stock-in-trade or personal property, whether or not owned by artist, utilized in connection with the Arts Festival and artist does hereby waive any right of recovery against any sponsor of the Arts Festival and FWAF and each tenant of Jefferson Pointe for loss, damage or theft of such equipment. Artist agrees that FWAF shall not be liable and artist shall indemnify FWAF against any damage to artist’s or artist’s employee’s property, or artist’s equipment entrusted to artist by others, and for the loss of or damage to any of artist’s equipment by theft or otherwise, except if the same is caused by FWAF’s willful act.
- The artist is responsible for final clean up of the booth location at the end of the event. It shall be the sole responsibility and expense of the artist to remove all artist equipment immediately following the end of the Arts Festival. In addition, artist shall leave booth space and any other area used exhibiting in as neat and clean a condition as such premises were prior to their arrival at event.
- This Agreement shall be governed by the laws of the State where the Arts Festival is located, without regard to choice of law provisions.
- This Agreement acknowledged by the signing parties as the complete text of their mutual covenants and understanding, superseding all prior understandings which may differ from this Agreement . No change, waiver, or modification of the terms of this Agreement shall be binding unless in writing and signed by all authorized parties
- 7. If any party hereto shall bring any suit or other action against another for relief, declaratory or otherwise, arising out of this Agreement, the losing party shall pay the prevailing party’s reasonable costs and expenses, including such sum as the Court may determine to be reasonable attorney’s fees.
Exhibition Expectations
- All work must be original, handcrafted work. One of a kind work is preferred and encouraged.
- No commercial reproductions or embellished commercial products are allowed.
- Artists must be present with their work for the entire two days of the show. If the work is collaborative, each collaborator must be present. All artists must check in at Registration upon arrival for set up.
- Any commercially produced parts used in work must play a subordinate role.
- Joint exhibitors must both have a part in processing the work, one being designated as the booth holder.
- Artists may only show work in categories approved by the Jury. All work exhibited must be of the quality and type of that shown in the images juried.
- Booth structures, display and work must not exceed the limits of the assigned space. Each artist must keep display within the space assignment and provide their own display equipment and rain/sun protection. FWAF provides only booth space.
- Participating artists shall accept booth locations as assigned by FWAF.
- Weapons are not to be displayed or sold.
- All work must be for sale.
- If you produce work in editions, you must disclose edition numbers to the audience and include in your work descriptions.
- Work which, in the opinion of the committee, raises health or safety concerns in relation to normal or recommended use for the item will not be allowed.
- All work must be safe, non-toxic, and fit for its intended use. If any work requires special or limited use, this will be fully disclosed and explained to the public.
Instructions
- Fill out application completely . Submit payment Include a check or money order payable to Jefferson Pointe for $25 jury fee (non-refundable), a separate check or money order payable to Jefferson Pointe for $125 booth fee, and a self addressed stamped envelope.
- CD Submission: Label CD with your name and phone number. Number images 1-5 to match descriptions. JPG or BMP (300 DPI, 4’ X 6’) preferred but can take any image. CD must be included with hard copy.
- Slide submission: Enclose four (4) 35mm slides or 4x6 photographic prints of your CURRENT individual work in the medium you which to be juried, plus one image of your booth set up. If an image of your booth set up is not included your application will not be considered. Use a clear plastic holder and slides must fit in a standard Kodak projector. Provide description for each slide including materials, size, process, and any unusual aspects in the space provided. Also include price(s) of item(s) shown. Any Images that are out of focus or do not show work clearly will be disqualified.
- Failure to adhere to any of these requests will result in application being discarded.
